Are we FUTURE ready?

Oh, man! this blog scares me too, I just thought about this and let us know some things, what we are lacking.

The things which fascinate us today like AI and ML might be a threat to humanity one day. I genuinely feel this, we are so intrigued by these things and learning these things, without even knowing what’s gonna happen in the future/tomorrow. It came to my mind when a giant social media company Facebook shut down one of it’s AI systems after chatbots started speaking in their own language, which used English words but could not be understood by humans! wtf; it looks like the storyline of some Terminator movie.😅

It’s irony when some of the great tech leaders like Zuck, Elon Musk, and others recognize that AI is a big risk to humanity, preaching to slow down the research in AI, but still have big companies on AI, Musk went to a next-level thing; Neuraink. (ok!!, not now)

“If someone says something, you won’t believe it and it might be a reality one day.”

What one thought say, 50 years ago, 100 years ago maybe it’s talking to distant people, humans flying, etc. are all true now. Who thought humans would be more intelligent; intelligent than ever before, probably no one predicted such drastic changes in human evolution.

**HUMANS are the first species to discover that they can grow/go faster than evolution.

HUMANS are the first species to create something that is more intelligent than him.

HUMANS are the first species to create their own threat.

HUMANS upgrading themselves with god complexity.**

We have grown so fast that the world has become hyper-connected. One may argue that it’s tech that brought changes, we need to encourage, adopt, it has made so many things better, etc. etc. but it has a very dark downside. You know who is most affected by this tech, that 2nd world, and 3rd world countries. Here is what I mean by this;

Since the world is hyper-connected, it takes little or no time to spread things, maybe just by a single click. This is where 3rd world countries are affected. Ex. The discovery of Automation. Somewhere in a developed country, this was introduced, the man or a team who worked/built this and patented this is earning in millions, but when this technology was introduced to another country, many people there lost their daily bread.

Similarly in the case of AI and ML, and whatever new tech may be, 3D printing, Big data, data science, IoT, AR & VR, SaaS, have a brutal impact on unskilled people.

For example Driverless/self-driving cars, what we suddenly in mind, ah!! man, I am now relieved of these DL things and learning driving. But it’s the other war around when we look at it from a different perspective…

There will be a lot, a lot of disruptions. To begin with,

  1. No requirement for Ola/Uber drivers.

  2. Then no need for insurance companies, These cars are built and drive through tech, if one car meets an accident, all other cars in that city and country will learn that through the cloud, and even the cars that are still being manufactured, will learn it, even before getting into the road. (This is like a leaked question paper😁)

  3. No use of traffic Police.

  4. No necessity for RTO.

  5. Lesser accidents. (A good thing)

One may have a different argument that one who is learning about this has nothing to worry about, but even this may happen that once the machines learn, and start to learn everything on their own, then there is no necessity for humans there.

Here’s what I think, what all changes may happen.

  1. Govt. will start functioning like a corporate/start-up.

  2. Of course, Space traveling.

  3. Bio-Hacking (It’s a separate discussion)

  4. Social media streaming 24*7.

  5. Beginning of techno-religion.

  6. Ecological disaster.

  7. No Physical war, only biological, chemical, and psychological.

And there are many more things to say in various fields and the list goes on.

On a closing note let us ask, once again the same question, which is the same as the title of this blog.
